Sevenoaks: Extra seats gained by Tories

THE Conservatives won the district council elections at Sevenoaks with an increased majority.

The Tories pushed up their share of seats from 33 to 41 while Labour’s amount was halved from 10 to five.

The Liberal Democrats lost one seat, bringing their share down to seven and the amount of Independent councillors was reduced from three to one.

The turnout was 37.9 per cent, an increase of 4.1 per cent on the last poll 2003. The count took on Friday at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre.
