Suspected shoplifter charged after items stolen from shops in Sevenoaks over almost two months

A suspected shoplifter has been charged with a series of thefts from a string of town centre shops.

Shane Bignall is accused of stealing alcohol, groceries, clothing and cosmetics in a spate of alleged offences in Sevenoaks between April 14 and yesterday.

The thefts are alleged to have taken place at Waitrose, Boots and Marks and Spencer, and two smaller shops in the town.

The 35-year-old, of Whippendell Way, Orpington, was arrested yesterday and later charged with seven counts of theft.

He was subsequently bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on July 21.
