Sevenoaks Town Partnership named Town Team of the Year ahead of 400 contenders

A town in Kent has been presented with an award for its outstanding achievements throughout the year.

Sevenoaks Town Partnership has been named Town Team of the Year ahead of 400 other possible contenders.

The Association of Town and City Management 2014 Awards judged teams across the UK and were impressed by the the Sevenoaks town partnership's raft of achievements.

The 400 teams were set up in the wake of the Portas Review, commissioned in 2011 by David Cameron.

Cllr Stephen Arnold, Chairman of the Sevenoaks Town Partnership said: “I’m delighted to announce that the partnership has been successfully named Town Team of the year.

"This latest award is a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by all member organisations and individuals who have supported the partnership’s work since its inception”

The Sevenoaks Town Partnership achieved a substantial amount including branding of the Town, creation of a digital hub, implementation of the infopod project, and the vintage bus which has attracted national attention from both ministers and other relevant organisations.

The Association of Town and City Management is the lead body appointed by central Government to support the nationwide network of Town Teams.
