Appeal after woman is punched in face

POLICE are appealing for information following an assault on a 34-year-old woman as she walked in Hope Street, Sheerness.

She was walking home on New Year’s Eve between 7.15pm and 7.24pm when a man approached her and punched her in the face.

The woman, who does not know why she was assaulted, suffered bruising to her face.

The suspect is described as white, aged 19 to 20, 5ft 2ins, medium build with blond, cropped hair. He wore light blue jeans and a white long-sleeved top.
