POLICE are hunting a teenage thug who cut a 12-year-old boy's finger with a knife at a bus stop.

The incident occurred at the junction of Minster Road and Scrapsgate Road, Minster, near Sheerness, on Monday at about 3.20pm.

The victim was standing at the bus stop when the attacker approached him. He put his hand into the boy’s pocket and demanded money. The boy told the thug he didn’t have any money and asked him to remove his hand from his pocket.

The attacker is then reported to have cut the boy's finger with the knife, resulting in a minor cut. He then ran off.

He is described as a white male, aged between 13 and 15, 5ft 1ins tall with blond, short spiked hair. He was wearing a school uniform.

Sgt Evan Jones said: “Thankfully the boy in this instance was not seriously hurt. However, this kind of intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated and we will actively seek to arrest the suspect.”

If anyone can help police with their enquiries they should contact Swale Police on 01795 584040 (Answer phone will operate out of hours) or Kent CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
