Trains on and off Sheppey were cancelled this afternoon after a fault on the Kingsferry Bridge.
Services were stopped around 4.20pm.
But at 5pm Southeastern announced the fault had been fixed.
It wrote on Twitter: "The fault with the bridge at Swale has been resolved and train services will resume again shortly on the Sheerness line."
Trains between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea had been suspended "until further notice" and temporary replacement buses introduced.
A spokesman for Southeastern said: "The first trains to run through will be the 5.25pm Sittingbourne to Sheerness and the 5.21pm Sheerness to Sittingbourne."
