Police are appealing for help collaring burglars who took cash and jewellery from two homes in Sheerness.

The break-ins happened on Saturday (February 18) in Marine Parade 11am and 8.40pm and Invicta Road between 5pm and just after 11pm. They are believed to be linked.

In the first case, the thieves gained entry while the occupants were out. In the latter, they forced their way in through a downstairs rear window.

Officers are asking people to take basic steps to protect their expensive jewellery and gold, such as storing them in a good quality safe bolted to a solid wall or floor.

Anyone with information is urged to call the appeal line on 01795 419119 quoting reference XY/7609/17 (Marine Parade) or XY/7690/17 (Invicta Road). Alternatively call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
