A WOMAN motorist was lucky to escape without injury when her BMW smashed into the railings at Sheerness train station last night.

Police were called to the accident which happened in Pepys Avenue at about 10.55pm. When they arrived the woman was out of her car.

Council staff were also called to the scene due to the damage caused to the railings.
