Car crashes into barrier at Queenborough Corner, Sheppey

A busy stretch of road is now fully open after a crash which left a car on two wheels.

A green Ford Fiesta hit a barrier at Queenborough Corner on the Isle of Sheppey after the two-car crash.

The A249 Brielle Way is open again, after it was shut near the junction with the Queenborough Road at 1.50pm.

Police and an ambulance were called to the busy junction, along with recovery vehicles.

The Ford Fiesta was on two wheels after colliding with a silver Vauxhall Corsa, and was facing off the Island on the Sheerness-bound side of the road.

Police temporarily shut Queenborough Road, whilst recovery work was being carried out, and traffic was directed into Queenborough via Neats Court.

Recovery work took around one hour.

An ambulance service spokesman said no one required hospital treatment.

Members of Highways England also attended.

Police confirmed the road reopened a 3.25pm.
