Motorcyclist airlifted to London hospital after crash in Halfway Road, Sheppey

A motorcyclist was airlifted to a London hospital after a crash with a car.

Halfway Road in Halfway, Sheppey, was shut on Tuesday following the collision which happened between the Halfway traffic lights and Power Station Road, Sheerness.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 4.13pm to a report of a collision between a car and a motorbike in Halfway Road.

"Officers are in attendance, alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service who are assessing for injuries at the scene.

"A localised road closure is currently in place."

He said later: "The motorcyclist was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance where he was treated for a leg injury."
