Strawberries and cream and some old time classics were the order of the day for members of Age UK.

Hazel Webb, Tesco Community Champion, with Eileen Wright and Richard Lutton

Community champion at Tesco Sheerness, Hazel Webb, went along to the charity in Trinity Road, Sheerness, on Wednesday afternoon.

Almost 30 people were served the fruity treat as well as scones and jam and tea or coffee.

There was also a singalong to some well-loved tunes including The White Cliffs of Dover and there was a general knowledge quiz.

Ms Webb said: “They all loved it and very much appreciated the tea.

“They enjoyed my visit and urged me to come back.

“The older members of the community enjoyed different activities and love to see different people to talk to.”
