A man has been beaten with a metal pole during a burglary at his home on Sheppey.
The householder was taken to hospital after he was attacked with what is believed to be a crowbar in Scrapsgate Road, Minster, yesterday.
He suffered leg and arm injuries in the ordeal after three men raided the bungalow in the early hours.
The raiders then escaped on a quad bike - stolen from the property - along with two watches and a mobile phone.
Kent Police officers were called at 2.45am yesterday to a report of three men entering the back of a home.
A spokesman said the occupant is reported to have been assaulted with the weapon.
An ambulance was called and the victim was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham.
He was treated by medics for leg and arm injuries.
Police said inquiries are ongoing to trace the three men.
Specialist forensic teams were seen outside the property until 4pm yesterday.
It is the latest in a spate burglaries that has seen businesses, homes and chalets across Sheppey targeted by thieves in the past week.
