A skull painting workshop formed part of Halloween festivities at the Arty Crafty Gift Shop.

The Sheerness High Street store was also paid a visit by a life-sized Dalek which was fitted with a microphone and greeted visitors with the chilling “exterminate” cry.

A pumpkin hunt involving other town centre shops also featured in the day’s fun which was attended by about 30 youngsters with parents.

Artist Richard Jeferies with Faith Spicer-Jenkins co-owner at the Arty Crafty Gift Shop

Faith Spicer-Jenkins, who runs the shop and was responsible for the “exterminate” command while hiding below the counter, said: “It was a really successful and fun day.

“A number of people jumped out of their skin when they entered the shop and heard the Dalek.

“We’ll be bringing it back at the start of December for our Dalek Santa’s Grotto.”
