Development plans for homes in Power Station Road, Halfway, revised by TBH (Sheerness) Ltd

The man behind plans for a housing development in Halfway has submitted his application to Swale council and says he has taken on board feedback from residents.

TBH (Sheerness) Ltd hopes to build the homes on the site of the former HBC Engineering factory in Power Station Road.

There has been much objection to the scheme over fears about a lack of infrastructure on Sheppey and the already busy junction with Halfway Road.

However, there have also been comments in support of it, with people saying it will be good to see something done with the land and it will provide much-needed housing and jobs.

Director Paul Graham had originally proposed 147 dwellings, but after a public exhibition, held earlier this year, says he has now reduced this to 137, which includes flats and houses.

He has also removed plans for a community building, which was possibly to be used as a shop, as he said people weren’t keen on the idea.

He said: “We have tried to come up with a scheme that fits with what’s around it and works with the area.

“We are trying to work with everybody.”

The application is awaiting official validation by the authority before the plans appear online.
