A man was struck over the back of the head and then punched and kicked as he lay on the floor in a club.

The attack happened inside the Bar Tantra in Beach Street, Sheerness.

Police say the victim was in the smoking area of the club when he saw a member of his family surrounded by seven unknown men.

He approached the group to find out what was going on and was attacked.

He sustained cuts and bruises during the incident that happened at about 2am on Sunday, October 3.

One of the assailants was white, aged between 25 and 28. He is around 6ft 1in, slim, with blue eyes and brown or black hair cut into a crop style. He had a goatee-style beard and was wearing jeans.
