People enjoying last year's event

This year’s Christmas Lantern Parade looks set to be bigger and better than ever.

Big Fish Arts is putting on the parade on Saturday December 13.

It starts at Beachfields, off Beach Street, Sheerness, at 4pm and will travel up to the Sheerness Clock Tower, where there will be range of refreshments including hot sausages, mulled cider and hot chocolate.

This year the theme is aviation, to tie in with the Island’s centenary celebrations next year.

Big Fish Arts has held a number of free workshops to help people make their lanterns.

The final one will be held on Friday December 12 at the Bistro, in Bridge Road, Sheerness (opposite Sheppey College) from 3.30pm.

If your school or organisation would like members of Big Fish to come along and do a workshop, please phone Chris Reed on 07775712306.
