Sheppey: Woman left trapped after crash in First Avenue, Rushenden

A woman in her 40s was left trapped in her car following a two-car crash.

Police were called to the accident in First Avenue, Rushenden, shortly after 6.30pm.

Officers were joined by ambulance crews and two fire engines, and the woman driver was treated for injuries, including to her ankle, before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham.

The woman had to be freed from her car by firefighters before being passed into the care of paramedics.

The road was blocked while the vehicles were recovered. It was cleared by 9.30pm.
