Rev Tim Hall looks at plans with Marisa White, Kate Stansfield and Jane Wiles at the Thistle Hill Community Centre

A drop-in session was held for people to ask questions about a new school on a major housing development.

Kent County Council (KCC) is planning to build a primary school on the Thistle Hill estate in Minster, ready for September 2015.

Marisa White, KCC area education officer, fielded questions at the Thistle Hill Community Centre on Thursday.

Vicar of the Benefice of West Sheppey, the Rev Tim Hall, who was one of the visitors, said: “I went down just to see where it was going to be built.

"I was really pleased to see that it was on schedule.

“There was a question about access to the school, but other than that it looks good and we are looking forward to seeing who is going to run it.”

KCC is looking for promoters to operate the school as an academy or free school and an announcement from the minister for education, Michael Gove, on who that will be is expected next month.
