Female pedestrian hit by car

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being struck by a car in a Kent town in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to the incident, which took place in a car park in Delmark Road, Sheerness, at around 1.30am.

The area was cordoned off and a 45-year-old man from Leysdown has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The 33-year-old woman was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact them on 01795 419339 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
