Man arrested and driver taken to hospital after car crash in Minster Road, Sheerness

A driver has been arrested and another taken to hospital following a car crash on Sheppey.

Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to the junction of Whybornes Chase and Minster Road in Sheerness.

A police spokesman said: " Officers attended the scene and closed the road to assist Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) and South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"One of the drivers was taken to hospital for treatment and a man has been arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs."

Police were called to the scene at 11.40am. They said two vehicles were involved whereas the fire brigade said there were three.

A KFRS spokesman said: "Fire crews were called to a crash involving three vehicles in Minster Road, Sheerness.

"One fire engine attended and the crew made the scene safe. Kent Police and paramedics also attended."

Fire crews were at the scene from 11.56am 12.34pm.

South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
