Police have charged four people with burglary offences following a spate of break-ins in Sheerness.

Detectives investigating the crimes carried out a number of warrants in the town on Thursday morning and arrested six people on suspicion of burglary and theft offences.

Ricky Chambers, 24, of Alma Road, Sheerness and Levy Deeprose, 24, of Newnham Lane, Eastling, were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary along with a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, both from Sheerness, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The charge relates to an incident in Seager Road, Sheerness, on August 2.

Chambers is also accused of assault and a racially aggravated public order offence.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with two other burglaries in Vincent Gardens and St Helen's Road, Sheerness, both on August 3. He was bailed to appear at court on September 15.

Chambers, Deeprose and the 17-year-old boy were remanded in custody and are due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.

A 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, both from Sheerness, were bailed pending further enquiries until August 21 and October 3, respectively.

Cash and jewellery were taken from many of the properties.
