A family fun day in memory of a Sheppey soldier is due to take place this weekend.

The Dannyboy Trust (DBT) fundraiser will be held at Co-op Sports and Social Club, St George's Avenue, Sheerness, on Sunday.

DBT was set up by the family of Daniel Holkham, the 19-year-old Rifleman from Warden Bay who died while on duty in Afghanistan in March 2010.

It aims to support Island children by raising money for sports clubs, schools and other organisations.

The fun starts at 11am and goes on until 5pm and there's plenty planned to keep guests entertained.

There will be a bouncy castle, obstacle course, football shoot-out, games, pony rides, hot food, live music, archery, face painting, disco, fancy dress and much more.

An Olympic torch will also be on site for people to hold and get their picture taken with.

Entry to the fun day is free and programmes will be on sale for £1, which includes a number for a cash draw with a top prize of £50.
