Suspected counterfeit DVDs, including Despicable Me 3, trainers and clothing were confiscated.

At least 100 bags were taken from just one trader.

The haul filled a Transit and another smaller van.

Police, Trading Standards and the Anti-Counterfeiting Group seized hundreds of counterfeit items from Leysdown.

The property was being catalogued and counted and investigations continue.

Clive Phillips, Trading Standards’ operations manager, said: “We will continue to work with our partners in stamping out this illegal trade which undermines legitimate local businesses.”
