A Sheerness supermarket has been fundraising for the Royal British Legion to commemorate the beginning of the First World War.

Iceland put up a display at its High Street branch called the wall of heroes which was made up of staff members’ and customers’ photos of loved ones past and present serving in the armed forces.

As well as collecting donations in store, staff held a family fete at Holy Trinity church hall in Trinity Road, Sheerness, on Saturday, August 9.
