A lorry has crashed into a petrol station this afternoon - but no-one has been hurt.

The driver appears to have misjudged the height of his HGV and ended up wedged under the canopy of the Gulf petrol station.

It happened on the corner of Invicta Road and High Street in Sheerness just after 4pm.

The lorry appears to have dented the canopy. Picture: Diane Baseden

And it's not the first time today the vehicle was seen having difficulties navigating the streets of Sheppey.

Police are currently there.

The lorry was spotted earlier in the day struggling to turn out of Victory Street onto the High Street, having almost clipped a signpost.
