Man accused of giving heroin to death crash son

A 39-year-old man whose son died in a car crash last year has been charged with supplying the teenager with a class A drug.

Shaun Packer, of Victoria Street, Sheerness, was charged with supplying Danny Packer with heroin between November 21 and 25.

Danny died on November 25 when his white Ford Sierra Sapphire was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa near the Ship-on-Shore pub in Marine Parade and went on to hit a lamppost.

The 18-year-old from Manor Road, Rushenden, was thrown from his car and suffered severe head injuries. He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Mr Packer was found guilty of breaching his bail conditions when he appeared at Sittingbourne magistrates' court on Friday and was remanded in custody. He will appear again at the court on Friday.
