John Brazil of Barrow Grove, Sittingbourne, appears in court accused of stabbing Ryan Abbott

A man accused of attempted murder following a stabbing on Remembrance Sunday appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.

John Brazil, of Barrow Grove, Sittingbourne, was arrested in Derbyshire earlier this month.

The 22-year-old is alleged to have attacked Ryan Abbott, 24, in Manor Road, Rushenden, on November 11.

Kent Air Ambulance airlifted Mr Abbott to a London hospital for emergency surgery. He has since been discharged.

Brazil, who appeared in court by TV link with Lewes Prison in East Sussex, will enter a plea to the charge on January 4. A provisional trial date was set for June 3.
