Ashley Cobb, of Emerald View, Warden, appears before Medway Magistrates after Tesco Sheerness stabbing

A 20-year-old man will now appear before a crown court after a supermarket stabbing.

Ashley Cobb, of Emerald View, Warden, was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with affray, possessing a knife, theft and criminal damage.

He was remanded in custody and made his first appearance before Medway Magistrates Court yesterday.

Tesco supermarket, Bridge Road, Sheerness.

But the case has now been sent to Maidstone Crown Court, to be heard on November 2.

He did not enter a plea and will remain in custody.

A woman in her 30s received cuts to her hand outside Tesco's supermarket in Bridge Street, Sheerness on Tuesday.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.
