Accident

A man injured in a motorcycle crash on the Isle of Sheppey has died in a London hospital.

The 32-year-old, who is from the capital, was seriously injured during the crash on Park Avenue in Leysdown on Thursday evening.

He was riding a 125cc off-road bike when it lost control and crashed. The bike has yet to be traced.

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital and he died there from his injuries early yesterday (Saturday).

PC Claire Russell-Thomas, an investigating officer, said: "The whereabouts of the motorbike is still unknown and our priority is to find it as soon as possible.

"The bike is a vital part of our inquiry and without it we can't piece together exactly what happened on Thursday evening.

"We are also appealing for anyone who saw the incident or events leading up to it. It was a busy summer evening and we feel sure someone must have seen what happened."

If you have any information call 01622 798538 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
