A search for a missing woman was called off after she was found safe and well.

Residents on the Isle of Sheppey said they were woken at 2am by the sound of a police helicopter circling overhead.

A large police presence was seen in Lower Road, Minster, between Barton Hill Drive and Cowstead Corner.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were responding to a call received at about 9.30pm on Friday concerning the welfare of a missing woman, but she was later found to be safe and well.
