Man and woman arrested after early morning brawl in Richmond Street, Sheerness

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man and a woman were caught fighting in the street.

The couple, who are known to each other, were reported to be brawling in Unity Street, Sheerness, in the early hours of Saturday (June 27).

The fight also moved into Richmond Street and James Street.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and arrested a man and a woman both in their 20s from Sheerness on suspicion of assault. The woman was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage."

The pair had been causing a disturbance between 2am and 3am.

The spokesman added: "We are keen to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident and would particularly like to hear from a woman who is understood to have been recording the incident on a mobile phone."

Police have bailed the woman until July 21 and the man until July 23.
