A motorcyclist had to be airlifted to hospital after an accident between a van and a bike.

It happened in Leysdown Road, at Bay View, near the junction with Danes Drive, just after 7am.

Emergency services, including police and an ambulance were called, along with the air ambulance.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "At 7.13am we sent two cars and two ambulances to a collision between a motorcycle and van on Leysdown Road.

"The air ambulance also attended and flew the rider to Tunbridge Wells Hospital with head and chest injuries."
