Coast road at Sheerness, Sheppey, closed for water repairs

Sheppey's road system has once more been thrown into chaos today after a surprise closure of the coast road at Sheerness.

Engineers from Southern Water have shut Marine Parade at its junction with Seager Road for repairs to the mains.

Diversion signs have been set up at the White House at the junction with The Broadway, Minster, forcing motorists to detour back through Halfway.

It is not know at present how long the closure will last.

There are additional road closure signs outside the former Catamaran Yacht Club.
