A silver screen legend of the four-wheeled variety rolled up at Queenborough primary.

The DeLorean, made famous in the 1980s cinema classic Back to the Future, parked up in the playground to tie-in with a school project.

The replica of the super-powered, time-travelling car was hired via a website and pupils spent the morning having their picture taken with it and quizzing its owners.

They also designed and built their own time machine as part of a Back to the Future topic in which youngsters will explore different periods in history.

Assistant head teacher Jason Howard said: “All the schoolchildren loved it.

“Many of them had seen the film when it was on during the Christmas holidays.

“It certainly made for an inspirational start to the term.”
