Firework finale planned to mark the end of the Sheppey Summer Carnival celebrations

The Sheppey Summer Carnival is due to take place this weekend.

There is plenty planned throughout Sheerness on Saturday, including DJs from SFM who will be provide entertainment at the clock tower all day.

A fun fair will be at Beachfields Park until tomorrow.

Miss Junior Sheppey Mia Clark and Miss Sheppey Brooke Buttfield are preparing for today's carnival

The parade starts at 5.30pm and there are expected to be several carnival courts from around the county represented, including the Miss Sheppey team.

The procession will leave New Road and make its way along Railway Road, turn right into Millennium Way, round into Trinity Road and right at the roundabout for Broadway.

It continues along there and turn right into Alma Road, head out onto Cavour Road, before passing through the High Street and then back to New Road.

At around 9.30pm there will be fireworks at the beach near the funfair.
