A pervert whose fantasies about young girls led to a series of sexual assaults has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Police discovered David Warner had a series of “jottings” in which he wrote about his lust for girls, Maidstone Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Christopher May said: “It provided an insight into the way he was feeling about these girls. There were photographs of various girls stored on his mobile phone.”

The 52-year-old, of Alma Road, Sheerness, admitted sexually assaulting three girls. He denied two other charges and they were left on the court file.

He entered the pleas shortly before he was due to stand trial. A judge said as a result the victims would not have to relive their “unpleasant and disgusting” experiences.

Mr May said Warner touched one girl on the bottom and tried to kiss her on the lips. He put his hand down the trousers of another girl and touched and slapped the bottom of a third.

When arrested, a letter was found in which Warner called himself “a silly old fool”.

Warner had at first denied any inappropriate behaviour.

Crispian Cartwright, defending, said Warner describing himself as a silly old fool summed up his position.
