A car has caught fire on the A249 just before the Sheppey Crossing.

Officers are currently dealing with the incident in a lay-by on the Sheppey-bound carriageway.

One lane has been closed whilst the blaze is being dealt with and fire crews are also in attendance.

The car is believed to be a Kia Picanto.

Traffic is said to be queuing back past the Iwade turn-off.
