The Sheppey Crossing currently has one lane closed going off the Island towards Sittingbourne.

Motorists travelling on the A249 might experience delays over the next few days.

The lane closures will be in place 9am to 4pm until Friday September 9.

Workmen are on site looking at the bridge, and there are no reported delays currently.

A Highways England spokesman said: "We are carrying out routine surveys on the crossing to check all relevant components are working properly.

"This will take a few days to complete."
