Hundreds of people have helped a popular charity celebrate its 20th birthday.

Sheppey Matters hosted a big bash on the green space between the leisure centre and swimming pool in Sheerness on Friday.

A group of 40 children had lunch provided by the Waterfront Cafe and were joined by Peppa Pig and Spiderman and had their pictures taken.

“Everybody here has just pulled together and made it happen and I would like to say a huge thank you to them and Swale Community Leisure for its help.”

Mr Martin added: “It’s surpassed all we were hoping for.

“It was a fantastic effort all round and I’d like to say a big thank you to all our team and volunteers who made it all possible.”
