Emergency services called to three-car crash on The Broadway, Minster

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a three-car crash.

Emergency crews were called to The Broadway, Minster, to deal with the accident near The White House Indian restaurant.

Three people were taken to hospital.

Three fire engines arrived at about 10.50am.

Two people had already got out of their vehicles, but fire crews had to release a man and a woman from one of the cars using hydraulic rescue and cutting equipment.

Ambulance crews treated a number of people at the scene.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: "We were called to The Broadway just before 11am. We sent two ambulances.

"A number of patients were at the scene, including a number of walking wounded.

"We took three people to Medway Maritime Hospital. Both ambulances left by 12.15pm."

Police have closed the road

Marine Parade, Sheerness, which leads into The Broadway, was closed from Barton's Point while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A police spokesman said the road reopened at around 2.30pm.

It remained closed while debris and a fuel spillage were cleared.

He added: "Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of drink driving and inquiries are ongoing."
