Two charged after police search involving dogs and helicopter on Sheppey

Two men arrested on suspicion of assault following an extensive police search involving dogs and a helicopter have been charged.

Officers were called shortly before 5.50am yesterday (Sunday) following reports of two assaults at separate addresses in Alexandra Road, Sheerness.

Police and paramedics went to the scene where a man was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital.

Officers assisted by the dog unit and police helicopter then conducted an extensive search of the area and subsequently arrested two people in Minster.

Lee Sales, 32, from Sheerness has been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary with intent, burglary with intent, wounding with intent, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, criminal damage, possession of a Class B drug, and driving a vehicle without a licence and insurance.

Lee Duffy, 34, of Craylands Square, Swanscombe was charged with two counts of aggravated burglary with intent, wounding with intent, aggravated vehicle taking and criminal damage.

Both appeared before Medway Magistrates Court today where they were further remanded in custody to appear at court on a date to be determined.
