The wedding invitation received by Bill Roberts

by Nathan Rao

A GRANDMA and grandad may miss out on their grandchild’s wedding because the invite has gone to the wrong address.

An invitation was received buy Bill Roberts and his wife Gloria on Wednesday.

It was addressed to "Nan and Granpop" and from "Mark and Gemma" who are getting married on Saturday, May 29, 2010.

It says: "Please remember to save the date xxx."

But Mr Roberts, 71, says he does not have the faintest idea who Mark and Gemma are.

He said he and his wife are grandparents but not to anyone with those names.

It was sent to the couple’s home in Thames Avenue, Sheerness, and Mr Roberts thinks it may have been meant for another similar address on the Island.

He said: "It may be genuine but I have never heard of these people.

"It would be a shame if it went to the wrong address and the real people didn’t get it.

"It will be interesting to see if anyone gets in touch who knows the couple."

The invitation is shaped like a wedding ring with a diamond.

It has a pink outline and is set on magnetic material similar to that of a fridge magnet.

If you can help solve the mystery please call the Times Guardian on 01795 580300.
