A woman was taken to hospital after she became stuck in mud.

A call came through at 12.50pm on Saturday from a person whose sister was trapped off the coast of Warden Bay and was complaining of pain to her leg.

A Sheppey Coastguard team, which was out on patrol five minutes away, was tasked to the scene.

A woman is carried to safety after getting stuck in mud on the Isle of Sheppey.

Assistance was requested of the South East Coast Ambulance service and Kent Fire and Rescue.

After some effort the Coastguard team was able to get the woman, aged 20, out of the mud by 1.30pm.
