A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision with another car in the early hours of the morning.

The incident happened on the A249 near Cowstead Corner, just before the Sheppey Crossing, at 12.50am on Saturday morning.

Police closed the road until 3.15am to allow for the vehicles to be taken away and because of concerns of poor visibility in thick fog.

The other driver is not thought to have been badly hurt.
