Sheppey Rugby Club are expecting their toughest test yet on Saturday.

The Kent 1 promotion-chasers have already enjoyed some big wins in recent weeks. A 15-14 victory over Beccehamian knocked the south Londoners off the top of the table last month and this weekend Sheppey visit new leaders Vigo.

“Last week’s game was tough and hopefully we have learned lessons from it,” said head coach Rob Dengate.

“We have to improve our kicking game but I am confident. As a team, we are confident as we have already played two of the top-three teams and won both.

“Vigo will be a tough test and it will be the toughest yet. On our day, though, we can beat anyone."

Sheppey were without a game last Saturday but Dengate was pleased to have the break.

He said: “So far the rest weeks have come at crucial times for us.

"There were a few that needed the rest. This weekend we are going into the game at full strength.”
