East finally break their duck

Dave Down is delighted for his players

At the 13th time of asking, Sheerness East finally won their first game of the season on Saturday.

Dave Down’s side, who are bottom of the Kent County League Premier Division with 11 defeats in 11 matches and already out of the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup, defeated Chipstead 3-2 in the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield and afterwards Down said: “I am delighted for the players because they all work so hard, they train twice a week, and it’s great that they have finally got some reward for their efforts.

“Although I would swap three points for Saturday’s cup win, you’ve got to start somewhere and it was great to see the smiles on the players’ faces in the changing room afterwards.”
