Vice-captain George Duggan says Minster’s batting is worse than ever – branding their latest defeat embarrassing.

Minster are bottom of Kent League Division 3 after a 43-run defeat by Old Colfeians made it five games without a win.

They were set 178 for victory but collapsed to 134 all out on a decent wicket.

Duggan said: “It was embarrassing to lose to Old Colfeians on that wicket. They were one of the worst attacks I’ve seen.

“Our batting has never been great but this year it’s worse than ever. We just seem to get ourselves out all the time. If we carry on like this we’ll be in Division 4 next season.

“I can’t say a bad word about the bowlers. They do their job week in, week out and they must be pretty frustrated that the batsmen – me included – have let them down again."

But Duggan remains confident Minster can move up the table.

He added: “We can be out of the relegation zone in one or two weeks. We just need that first win to get us going. There’s plenty of time to turn things around.”
