A day of music and entertainment proved to be a big success after it pulled in 2,000 people.

The event, which is now in its sixth year, was held at UKP Leisure Club’s sports ground in Gore Court Road, Sittingbourne.

Groups playing on the day included EK1, Boneyard Junction, The Licks, Drrink, Blighty, Skatacus and Marylebone Jelly.

As well as listening to live bands, festival-goers enjoyed a funfair, barbecue, hog roast, bar and Pimm’s and wine tent.

There were also stalls selling doughnuts, cherries and other refreshments and people were invited to bring their own picnics, although drinks were not permitted.

Hosting this year’s event was Milstead’s Boy George lookalike Matt Endersby.

A 10-minute fireworks display marked the end of the festival.

Club manager Teresa Abery said: “We’re very pleased with how it went. Everyone turned up and it went very smoothly.

“To get around 2,000 people was very good and we were lucky with the weather. It was a bit windy and cold in the evening but people were still up and dancing and having a good time.”

And she thanked all the staff involved in staging the event.

“There was a lot of work that went into it in the build-up to it and on the day,” she added.

A donation from the festival will be made to the Dave Lee’s Happy Holiday charity.
