The latest new additions have been made to a village play area.

A £40,000 overhaul of the park off Woodpecker Drive, Iwade, has been overseen by Swale council and Iwade Parish Council.

New equipment has been added and now benches and brass rubbing plaques have also been installed.

Borough councillors Duncan Dewar-Whalley (Con) and James Hunt (Con) and his children Thomas and Isabel and parish council chairman Matt Gale visited on Wednesday to inspect the improvements.

A Swale council spokesman said: “The younger members of the party were extremely happy. Bring your little ones to try out the new equipment for themselves.

“The updates to the play area aren’t finished – a new footpath and footbridge across the stream will also be added later this year.”
