Police have been seen attempting to close part of the A249 following an accident this evening.

One lane on the A249 Sheppey-bound near the Bobbing Roundabout was blocked after a crash at around 7pm.

A witness said:"Police were trying to close the Sheppey-bound carriageway of the A249 just past the Bobbing Apple turn off."

Reports suggest a single car was involved in the incident and is in the central reservation blocking lane two.

Police have been contacted for comment.
